CEBU, Philippines — Cebu-based property developer AppleOne Group has announced its partnership with Radisson Hotel Group to build the first five-star hotel and internationally-branded residences in Cagayan de Oro (CDO) in Mindanao.
This project is an addition to AppleOne’s expanding portfolio across the VisMin regions, in its bid to elevate the living standards and introduce international brands of hotels and residences, said AppleOne chief executive officer (CEO) and president Ray Go Manigsaca.
Manigsaca said that by introducing Cagayan de Oro’s first five-star hotel and residences, the company will greatly help pave the way for a transformative economic and social impact in the region.
AppleOne is known for bringing luxury hotel and residences development and amenities into the regions outside Metro Manila, which consecutively contributes to the economic and tourism sector growth of these regions.
The company is the developer behind Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort in Cebu, as well as a business and lifestyle hub in Cebu, the Mahi Center where Fairfield by Marriott Cebu Mactan is situated.
In December last year, the company broke ground for JW Marriott Panglao Island Resort and Residences in Panglao, the first 5-star luxury hotel and residences in Bohol province.
With its roster of properties across VisMin, AppleOne is now thrilled to add another venture in CDO.
Manigsaca noted CDO’s thriving business and tourism sector, given that it is the gateway to Northern Mindanao. This is further magnified with the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) vow to prioritize Mindanao in its programs and projects, as well as other countries such as Malaysia looking into increasing flights to Mindanao.
“We intend to replicate in CDO what we have successfully started in Cebu and in all other areas where we operate—which is to contribute to the local economy and further boost the region’s tourism sector. We will be able to do this while we remain truthful to our commitment to elevate the living standards in the areas where we operate. This time, in CDO, it is our pride to be the one to open the first 5-star hotel and residences in the city,” said Manigsaca.
