The partnership for VCMC was made official last July 2020 through an intimate Joint Venture Signing Ceremony between AppleOne Medical Group and the United Church of Christ in the Philippines. This JV Partnership, signified as AppleOne Visayas Medical Corporation, was formed with the purpose of managing and operating the Visayas Community Medical Center in order to revive and further bring forth the mission of the hospital to its communities. VCMC is in the process of transitioning into the new VisayasMed City Center, and integrated medical complex which will offer better, more modern and mroe convenient healthcare services and facilities to all stakeholders through the well-established VisayasMed Hospital and Medical Arts Building.

A month following its first hospital acquisition, AppleOne Medical Group also announced the addition of a second hospital – the United Shalom Medical Center (USMC), formerly Bethany Hospital in Tacloban, which has now been turned over to the leadership of both AMG and UCCP, will see its operations reinstated. Once a distinguished healthcare establishment in the area, Bethany Hospital had experience the devastations brought about by typhoon Yolanda, like the majority of Tacloban had.

The hospital remains limited in its medical functions, operating as a medical laboratory for the time being, as it continues to be in the process of recuperation. With this partnership, the mission of USH can now be fully envisioned and materialized with the expansion of its services and modernization of its facilities, developing it to be the premier health and wellness facility for the Tacloban area.
